Disarticulated Chair Rendering 2018

Rendering: Gouache paint, gel pen
Final piece: Wood, steel, rubber, acrylic

This design represents an expansion of the ideas of multifunctional craft. It begins with a normal chair and, embedded within that chair, is jewelry. In the seat there is a large collar piece, while in the back there is a necklace as well as a pair of earrings. All of the components fit together like a puzzle piece, and each piece functions together as well as separately. When all jewelry pieces are removed, the chair still functions comfortably, and allows the owner complete freedom to curate their adorned composition.

Daffodil Rendering 2018

Rendering: gouache paint, gel pen
Finished product: Bronze, cement, gouache paint, wood, linen, silk thread, acrylic

This piece is designed to be a wall hanging specimen box for a disarticulated daffodil flower. This will be created in the same fashion as the Cornucopia Collection, with bronze frames and modern frescoes. Each separately named section is actually a brooch. When all together it is a full flower, but each segment can be removed. This allows the possessor the option of being able to pick and choose their adornment: one day, a petal, stamen, stem, and root. Another day, two petals, one leaf, and the bulb. Each section will be labeled with hand-embroidered details.

Cloud Brooch Wall Hanging Rendering 2018

Rendering: Gouache paint, colored pencil, graphite
Final piece: Paper clay, steel, silicone, mod podge, brass, found object

This rendering attempts to remedy the lack of a “home” for this previously created brooch, which was made out of paperclay and sculpted around a found glass orb. This wall-hung sculpture will be a public space to house this cloud inspired piece. Also made out of paperclay, it will mimic the form holding the orb with near seamless transitions. A steel mesh frame will support the shape and silicone grips will hold the brooch in place. Wearers can then pluck the brooch out to wear, while maintaining a compelling sculpture.

Over the Shoulder Box Brooch

Rendering: Gouache paint
Final Piece: Bronze, powder coat, steel double pin stem

This piece is designed as a brooch, there is a traditional double pin stem on the back of the faceted box, which pins to the front of the chest. The wire piece wraps up over the shoulder, hovering over the body. This can be lightly reshaped in order to fit the body of the wearer.
